You’re a uni student, it’s inevitable that you’ve got at least half a bottle of Vodka lying around from last week’s pre’s…right?

Well if not, it’s worth investing in one so you can bake the famous Spicy Vodka Pasta from the one and only – Gigi Hadid! And maybe even have a shot or two on the side.

It barely needs any ingredients and to be honest, you probably already have them in your cupboards. So, make sure to test this pasta dish on your pals if you’re looking to impress!

Ingredients:

Serves: 2

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 small clove of garlic, diced
  • ¼ green onion
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vodka
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 225 grams of shells pasta
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • Basil, chopped, to serve
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Boil pasta according to the directions on the package, adding 1 tsp salt to the water. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water for later use in the sauce.
  2. Heat extra virgin olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shallots or onions and sauté until they start to change colour.
  3. Add in garlic and sauté for a minute.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Add in the vodka and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Stir in cream along with red chilli flakes, salt and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  7. Add cheese and reserved pasta water. Cook for a minute.
  8. Stir in pasta and butter. Garnish with fresh parsley.

The trend might have slightly died down by now, but that doesn’t mean the taste is any less delicious! It’s changed our lives for the better and won’t cost you much at all.

She’s taken the app by storm and has inspired people around the world to make aesthetic ASMR Tiktok’s and invest time into cooking healthy dinners. 

Fancy a bit of salmon? Make sure to try this recipe when you get the chance, you won’t regret it!

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 cooked salmon fillets 
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 ice cube
  • 1/2 avocado, diced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp Kewpie mayonnaise to taste
  • 2 tsp sriracha, to taste optional
  • Kimchi, to taste optional
  • 12 roasted seaweed sheets optional

Method:

  1. Gently flake your salmon and spread it across a plate.
  2. Add a serving of rice on top of the salmon.
  3. Add a dash of soy sauce, sriracha, and kewpie mayo on top.
  4. Mix all the ingredients.
  5. Optional, but top your bowl with half a sliced avocado, kimchi, and any other sides to your liking.
  6. Wrap a chopstick full of the rice with a piece of roasted seaweed for the perfect bite, and enjoy!

3. Ramen Bowl 

Who doesn’t love Ramen noodles? Mmmm, even writing about them now is making our taste buds tingle…

They’re just so quick, cheap and easy to make, it seems like they’re just a treat for anyone who has them.

When it comes to cheap and easy dinner ideas to make from Tiktok, this Ramen bowl recipe has blown up and we can understand why. It’s super simple and you probably have all the ingredients stroked in your cupboard – so what have you got to lose?

Ingredients

  • 1 package of instant ramen 
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes or to taste
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp everything bagel spice or to taste

Method

  1. Cook the ramen noodles according to the package directions. Do not overcook them, al dente noodles work the best. Reserve some of the water.
  2. In a medium pan, heat butter. Add garlic and saute for 30 seconds or until fragrant. Remember to not brown the garlic. Add the soy sauce. Mix well and cook on low heat for 30 seconds. Mix in brown sugar.
  3. Add the cooked noodles and mix well with a pair of tongs. Add the starchy water from the cooked noodles and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until most of the water has evaporated.
  4. Move the noodles to one side and add an egg to the empty side of the pan. Cook the egg and then mix it with the noodles. Turn the heat off.
  5. Serve the noodles hot!

4. Pesto Eggs

If you want something simple, you’ve got it right here. Packed full of protein, seriously, what’s not to love about this popular Tiktok recipe?

Feeling fancy? Serve it with some baked beans, and sausages and create your very own cooked breakfast!

Ingredients 

  • 1-2 tbsp pesto sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • Chilli flakes, toast and grilled tomatoes/avocado to serve

Method

  1. Preheat the frying pan over medium-high heat. Spoon in the pesto and spread over the pan.
  2. When the pesto begins to bubble, crack eggs into a pan on top of the pesto. Let cook for 3-5 minutes or until the eggs are done to your liking. Sprinkle with chilli flakes.
  3. Serve on toast with extra chilli flakes and tomatoes on the side. 

5. Baked Feta Pasta Dish

One of the most popular Tiktok recipes we have seen on the app has to be this juicy cherry tomato and feta dish – right?

It was everywhere and if you didn’t hop on the trend then, why not start now? You might just find that this simple pasta dish is a firm favourite and something you cook every single week. 

Ingredients

Serves: 4

  • 450g bowtie pasta
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 boxes of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 block feta cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 pinches of red pepper flakes
  • 1 handful of fresh herbs (basil leaves preferred)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Add tomatoes, olive oil, and salt to a baking dish and toss.
  2. Place the block of feta in the middle and top with a splash of olive oil plus a few pinches of red pepper flakes. Set a timer and bake for 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare bowtie pasta al dente according to the directions on the packet. Once finished, strain and make sure to save some pasta water for later on.
  4. After the 30 minutes have passed, crank the heat up to 250 and bake for another 5-10 minutes or until the feta and tomatoes have browned.
  5. Remove the baking dish from the oven and add the garlic and basil, and stir. 
  6. Now add in the al dente pasta and stir one more time. Season with salt and pepper to taste!
  7. If the sauce seems a little dry, you can add ¼ cup of pasta water and stir to loosen the sauce

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup Greek yoghurt
  • 1 cup Self raising flour
  • Toppings of your choice

Method

  1. Mix yoghurt and flour in a bowl until the mixture no longer sticks to your hands, adding more flour as needed, until the mixture is a dough.
  2. On a floured counter, roll dough into the shape/size desired. Brush with oil on both sides.
  3. Cook in a preheated oven (200 degrees) for 10 mins. 
  4. Take the pizza out and add toppings of your choice, then pop it back in for another 10 mins.
